Pulsing is a rhythmic, rocking form of bodywork rooted in the principles of Wilhelm Reich’s groundbreaking somatic therapy.
Reich believed that emotional trauma is stored in the body, forming “character armour”—tensions and defenses that limit your ability to feel, express, and connect. Pulsing works to gently and effectively break down that armour, offering a path to emotional freedom and reconnection with your true self.
Think of Pulsing as a dance between movement and stillness, energy and release, all held within a safe, nurturing space.
During a session, I’ll use gentle rocking, stretching, and passive joint movements to create a wave-like rhythm throughout your body. This rhythmic motion not only takes you to a place of profound relaxation but also invites your bodymind to let go of old patterns, freeing you to experience life with greater ease and vitality.
Unlike traditional massage, Pulsing focuses on the skeletal system and the body’s innate rhythms rather than deep tissue manipulation. You remain fully clothed and are encouraged to simply relax, breathe, and allow your body to rediscover its natural state of flow and aliveness.
Neo-Reichian therapy with compassion and sensitivity
Reich’s work taught us that the body holds the key to emotional healing.
When we experience hurt, rejection, or shame, our bodies adapt by creating physical defenses, e.g. tightness in the chest, rigidity in the pelvis, or tension in the neck. Sessions are held in a warm, comfortable, private room at Space To Be You in Hackney. Here, you’ll find the safety and support you need to explore your body’s wisdom at your own pace.
